Christian Eriksen collapses again in a friendly match between Denmark and Ukraine

Christian Eriksen collapsed again on Sunday during a friendly match between Denmark and Ukraine at the Nature Energy Park in Odense, Denmark.

In the 65th minute, Eriksen appeared to hold his chest and fall to the ground, causing a pause in the game. The Danish Football Association has now made it clear that he is conscious and that the match has been canceled.

The incident concerned teammates and fans recalled a similar incident involving the player during the 2020 European Championships.

Eriksen collapsed on the pitch during Denmark’s Euro 2020 match against Finland in Copenhagen, causing the match to be suspended in the first half.

Danish players were in tears as medical staff tried to revive the then Inter Milan player, who suddenly collapsed near the touchline.

The previously raucous crowd at Parken Stadium in the Danish capital fell silent after the 29-year-old fell to the ground towards the end of the opening period as his teammates gathered around him.

After about 15 minutes, Eriksen was carried off the field, followed by the rest of the Danish team, while the Finnish players also left the field.

The match eventually resumed at 12:00 IST, with Finland beating Denmark 1–0.

His teammates formed a protective wall around him as medical workers revived him with a defibrillator.

Eriksen, 29, spent a week in hospital, where he had a type of pacemaker fitted, before returning home to recover in Denmark.
