John McGinn became the first Scottish player since Craig Burley to score a goal at the World Cup after finding the back of the net against Haiti at the Boston Stadium on Sunday.
The Aston Villa midfielder opened the scoring in the 28th minute after his shot from the edge of the penalty area deflected before beating the Haitian goalkeeper.
It was Scotland’s first goal at the World Cup since Burley’s goal in the 1998 edition, which saw them draw against Norway in the group stage.
Scotland have qualified for the quadrennial tournament, having last played in the 2018 edition, and will look to progress from the group stages for the first time in their history.
