Johan Manzambi scored twice for Switzerland in their 4-1 Group B win at the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Los Angeles on Thursday.
The 20-year-old is the youngest member of the Swiss squad and became the youngest goalscorer for the country at the World Cup since 1950.
He came on as a substitute for Dan Ndoye in the 72nd minute and found the net less than two minutes later. This was his third senior team goal for the Swiss side, having made his debut in May 2025. He added another goal to his goal in the 90th minute to make the score 3–0 in favor of Switzerland.
Manzambi plays for German side Freiburg, for which he has scored nine goals in 58 games since 2024. He rose through the ranks in the Bundesliga, playing for the second team and the Under-19 side.
He had a breakthrough season in 2025/26, scoring seven goals and setting up a further six goals in 47 games.
