Australia have three points after two games, while Turkiye and Paraguay, both of whom have yet to open their accounts, face each other later on Friday. In the final round, the US will face Turkiye and Australia will face Paraguay.
If Turkiye beats USA and Australia beats Paraguay, three teams – USA, Australia and Turkiye – could get six points each in this series of matches (that is, if Turkiye beats Paraguay on Friday).
Even though this scenario won’t guarantee a top-two finish for the US, the team will still qualify for the knockouts as one of the top eight third-seeded teams.
If Turkiye and Paraguay draw on Friday, USA is assured of a place in the top two of Group C.
