FIFA World Cup 2026: Turkiye eliminated after defeat by Paraguay; TUR vs PAR complete player ratings

Turkiye were eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup after suffering a 0-1 defeat to Paraguay in an ill-tempered FIFA World Cup 2026 Group D match in San Francisco on Friday.

The game’s defining moment came early, when Paraguay’s Matías Galarza drilled a left-footed shot into the bottom corner just 64 seconds after kickoff.

Paraguay almost completely retreated into its shell in search of a victory. The South American side’s difficulties were compounded late in the second half when star winger Miguel Almiron was sent off for covering his mouth while making a comment against Turkiye defender Mert Müldür.

But the South American team held their nerves and fought to take all three points.
