Wi vs Aus, 3rd test: West India remains control on the opening day of the day-night match versus Australia

West Indies produced another dominant day with the ball against a fragile bat on the Bat on the Australia and then survived a tense last hour on the first day of the third third test.

Shamar Joseph took four wickets, with Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales that took three each, because the Pace Attack of West India made full use of the seam and pitch conditions as soon as the lights in Sabina Park were switched on to bowl for 225.

The hosts then survived an evening attack of 100-test veteran, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins, for only the loss of Kevlon Anderson against Starc, to be 12 for one in stumps.

Earlier, the tough tour of 19-year-old Sam Konstas continued because he was the only wicket that fell in the opening session after Australia won the throw and chose to batten. Konstas worked up to 17 of 53 balls before being cut by Greaves. Before-Wicket (three for 56).

Usman Khawaja did not do much better, because he fell for a scratchy 23 out of 92 balls until he was spectacularly caught by Shai Hope to give Shamar Joseph (four to 33) his first wicket of the day.

Cameron Green (46) and Steven Smith (48) were stuck for the Flaggy Greens with a 61-run partnership, but both were rejected in a rapid order just before milestones.

In contrast to the first two tests in Barbados and Grenada, the middle order of Australia did not shot with head (20), webster (one) and Carey (21) all cheaply when the lights were turned around and the ball began to hoop and wave around.

Seales (three to 59) then returned to pick up Cummins (24) who held in the depth, looking for his third six in the over, and Starc went for a duck.

Shamar Joseph received a deserved fourth Wicket when he caught Josh Hazlewood to complete an invincible Australian Batting Display.

«Every throw is difficult,» said Green after the game of the day. “It was a real routine. Usman smashed well and never looked in. Steve Smith looked like he was hit a different pitch again.

«We wanted to give them a difficult 45 minutes at the end and I thought they were struggling.»

King and Anderson had the non -striking task to open the batting for the hosts under lights with Mikyle Louis and John Campbell both are not available to bats after taking success in the field during the first innings of Australia.

And Starc, who enjoys bowling with the pink ball, did not have to wait long to get his 396th test wicket when he found the stumps between the gorge of Anderson’s (3) bat and path.

But Kapitein Chase and King groove grimly and survived a number of close calls to see the hosts to stumps and to take the honor after day 1.

Australian spinner Nathan Lyon was dropped for the first time in 12 years when the tourists opted for an all-pace attack with the pink ball in Sabina Park.

Scott Boland was brought in in addition to the usual attack trio of Cummins, Starc and Hazlewood.

West Indies, on the other hand, broke his all-paco attack from Grenada by reminding himself of the left arm spinner Jomel Warrican at the expense of Quick Anderson Phillip.

The opening of Slagman Kraigg Brathwaite also fell after his 100th test in Grenada after scores in the series of 4, 4, 0, 7. He was replaced by Louis, while Anderson of Guyana debuted at number 3 in the order after beating Keacy Carty.

The Bowlers of Australia dominated the series after winning the first two tests – by 159 runs in Barbados, then with 133 points in Grenada – to secure the Frank Worrell trophy.
