The Indian women’s team under 20 has arrived in Tashkent to play two friendly matches against Uzbekistan U-20-team. The first of them will be played on Sunday, July 13, 2025 in the Do’stlik Stadium at 20:30 ist.
The young Tigresses, who had trained on Friday morning in the Padukone-Dravid Center for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru, landed in the capital of Uzbek on Friday morning. India uses these friendly games to prepare for the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifications next month, where they encounter in Indonesia, Turkmenistan and Myanmar.

Head coach Joakim Alexandersson said: «We wanted to face a strong opponent to get an idea of what awaits us in Asian qualifications. We also want to judge how all players play their role in such games, especially if we get closer to completing the team for the qualifications.»
On Uzbekistan he said: «They are a pretty physical team, especially their strikers. They play fairly directly directly with a minimum risk, often presses high and want to exploit the space behind the defenders quickly. So we must be prepared for that.»
