The second round of Group H matches concluded on Sunday with Spain beating Saudi Arabia in Atlanta and Cape Verde holding Uruguay to a draw in Miami.
A brace from Mikel Oyarzabal propelled Spain to the top of the standings after being held to a surprise 0-0 draw by Cape Verde in the opening match. The tournament debutant continued to defy expectations and followed up that result with another point against two-time World Cup champion Uruguay.
Group H Points Table
| Position | Team | Played | wins | Pulls | To lose | GD | Points |
| 1. | Spain | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 4 | 4 |
| 2. | Uruguay | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 2 |
| 3. | Cape Verde | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 2 |
| 4. | Saudi Arabia | 2 | 0 | 1 | 1 | -4 | 1 |
Qualification Scenarios:
Spain took a giant step towards the knockout stages with a 4-0 thrashing of Saudi Arabia in Atlanta. With four points from two games, the reigning European champions are well at the top of Group H.
Even a final group stage defeat to Uruguay could be enough for Spain to progress, potentially as one of the best third-placed teams.
Uruguay can qualify alongside Spain with a draw in the final match, provided Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia also draw. In that scenario, La Celeste would finish above Cape Verde based on goals scored.
A defeat to Spain would make Uruguay dependent on other results and could make qualifying, even as one of the best third-placed teams, significantly more difficult.
Cape Verde will qualify if it beats Saudi Arabia and Uruguay fails to beat Spain. Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, must beat Cape Verde and hope that Uruguay does not take all three points against Spain.
