Sporty President Frederico Varandas has warned that Spits Viktor Gyokeres will be fined and is asked to apologize from his team after he does not appear on time for the season for the training for the season, in the midst of reports of a relocation of the Portuguese club.
The 27-year-old Sweden International is said to have received a report from the Sporting Training Camp in Portugal in the southern Algarve region in Portugal on 12 July after an extended break, according to the media reports.
Gyokeres, who scored 54 goals last season, has left for his sports contract for three years and is connected to a move to Premier League Club Arsenal.
«We are calm. Everything will be solved with the closure of the market, a heavy fine and an apology to the group,» Varandas told the Lusa News Agency on Saturday.
“If they do not want to pay a real market value for Viktor (interested clubs), we will be very comfortable with it for the next three years.
“If the geniuses that come up with this strategy think that this is busy facilitating the exit, they are not only completely wrong, but they also make the player’s exit even more complicated.
«Nobody is above the interests of the club, whoever they can be.»
Gyokeres has scored 97 goals in 102 games for sport since his 2023 relocation of the English second-class Club Coventry City and won the Primeira Liga title in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.
Sports play Scottish champions Celtic in a friendly game in the Estadio Algarve on Wednesday.
