Ladies Euro 2025: England, France reach a quarterfinals after dominant victories

Reigning champion England hit Buren Wales 6-1 to reach the quarterfinals of the ladies Euro 2025 on Sunday, with second place in group D being obtained and feared in a high tone in the Knockouts.

Georgia Stanway struck out of the penalty spot in the 13th minute after an error in the box, and quietly wipe her shot in the extremely left corner along the vast hands of goalkeeper Olivia Clark to open the locks.

Ella Toone found the back of the net eight minutes later with a filthy goal, while Lauren Hemp nodded a third home within 30 minutes. Alessia Russo took her first goal of the tournament just before half -time, and Beth Mead cut into a defender before slid home in the 72nd minute.

Hannah Cain went back to the joy of the Wales fans in the 76th minute, but England’s Aggie Beever-Jones answered in the 89th. England will be confronted on Thursday in the quarterfinals in Sweden.

Cascarino authorized France to the last eight

An exciting second half performance by Delphine Cascarino fired France over a 5-2 victory over the Netherlands that won in group D at the women’s euros and a quarter-final meeting with Germany in Basel on July 19.

France finished the group with nine points of their three games, three in front of England, who connect in the knockout phase for a quarter-final meeting with Sweden in Zurich on July 17 after a 6-1 win over Wales.

The French took the lead by Sandie Toletti in the 22nd minute, but a Victoria Pelova strike and his own goal from Selma Bacha saw the Dutch take a 2-1 lead in the break.

Cascarino burst into life in the second half, put Marie-Antoinette Katoto for the Equalizer and then scored two goals in succession, with Sakina Karchaoui scored a late penalty to secure the 5-2 victory.
