Spain sealed top spot in Group H of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a 1-0 win over Uruguay in their meeting in Guadalajara on Friday.
Luis de la Fuente’s side collected seven points in the group stage with two wins and a draw in three games.
The side will now face the second place in Group J in the round of 32. The match will take place on July 2 (12:30 IST on July 3) at the Los Angeles Stadium.
As it stands, Austria occupies that spot in Group J, but will have to play Algeria in a shootout in the final group match to decide who finishes behind Argentina, who have taken first place.
The 2010 winner could face Croatia/Ghana or Colombia/Portugal in the round of 16, depending on the results in the final matches in Groups K and L.
