The FIFA World Cup Group L match between Croatia and Ghana will be officiated by Canadian referee Drew Fischer. He has been a FIFA referee since 2015.

The 45-year-old has a wealth of experience and has been a mainstay in Major League Soccer and the Canadian Premier League, most notably as a referee for the 2025 MLS Cup final.

At the global level, the Canadian has refereed in the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup and was also a regular video assistant referee for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Fischer made his World Cup official debut earlier in the tournament in the Group I match between France and Iraq.

In the 255 matches in charge he produced 853 yellow cards and 27 dismissals, for an average of 3.55 yellow cards per match.
