A late winner from Stephen Eustaquio gave Canada a 1-0 victory over South Africa as the co-hosts entered the round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup for the first time.
Canada will meet the winner of the match between the Netherlands and Morocco, scheduled for a day later in Monterrey. The Dutch qualified as top of Group F, while the Atlas Lions finished second, behind Brazil, in Group C.
Canada’s Round of 16 match will be played at Houston Stadium on the afternoon of July 4.
