Stephen Eustaquio scored a late goal to help Canada beat South Africa 1-0 in Los Angeles on Sunday and qualify for the round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Both teams squandered several chances and the match was headed to overtime until Canada’s captain hit the decisive goal to continue the host nation’s record winning streak.

Canada will next face the winner of Monday’s Round of 32 match between Morocco and the Netherlands.
