Liverpool have completed the signing of French defender Jeremy Jacquet from Ligue 1 club Rennes.
The Premier League club completed a deal for the transfer of the France Under-21 international earlier this year. The twenty-year-old central defender, who is struggling with a shoulder injury, was signed for a fee of €70 million.
Liverpool said he is joining “on a long-term contract.”
Jacquet, who was trained at the Rennes academy, made 33 senior appearances for Brittany.

“A club like Liverpool, it’s a big dream for me,” said Jacquet.
He added that he expects to be fully recovered before the start of preseason.
“I feel much better,” he said. «I got the green light to start a training program with the group (in Rennes) but it was a bit late to be with the team. But if I keep working hard I will be fully fit for the season.»
