Czech side MFK Karvina have been ineligible to participate in the 2026/27 UEFA Europa League due to involvement in match-fixing, UEFA said on Thursday.
The UEFA appeal body ruled that Karvina was ineligible because she did not meet the eligibility criteria, citing the club’s direct or indirect involvement in activities aimed at arranging or influencing the outcome of matches at national level.
The decision has led to a reshuffle of European competition spots for Czech Football Association (FACR) clubs.
Viktoria Plzen will take the Europa League play-off spot originally reserved for Karvina, who had qualified as winners of the domestic cup.
Hradec Kralove will take Plzen’s original spot in the second qualifying round of the Europa League.
Jablonec will participate in the second qualifying round of the Conference League, filling the vacancy left by Hradec Kralove.
The FACR ethics committee expelled Karvina from the top competition in Czech football in June.
