England head coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed that midfielder Jordan Henderson suffered a wrist injury while celebrating the side’s 3-2 win over Mexico in the round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Henderson appeared to have landed on his wrist after jumping over a pitchside billboard.
«Jordan (Henderson) just fell and injured his wrist. It looks really bad,» England manager Thomas Tuchel said on BBC One after the match.

«It’s a pretty serious injury and it doesn’t fit in with the evening that Jordan is not with us right now. The doctor told me he is in hospital.»
England had beaten Mexico in a tense encounter despite playing with 10 men for most of the second half after Jarell Quansah was shown a straight red card for a tough challenge.
Henderson has not been central to England’s plans at this World Cup so far. He played just six minutes in the group stage during a win over Panama. It is now likely that he will miss England’s quarter-final against Norway.
