If you type «Erling Haaland» into the Google search bar, you’re in for a quirky surprise.
The 25-year-old has been one of the headlines at the 2026 FIFA World Cup as he leads Norway’s historic run to the quarter-finals.
He has scored seven goals in four appearances at the tournament as Norway face England on July 11 for a place in the semi-finals.
Haaland has amassed quite a following during the tournament co-hosted by the US, Canada and Mexico. Subsequently, Google honored the Norwegian by giving him an Easter egg when someone searches his name.

An animation appears at the bottom of the screen showing seven Vikings sitting in a line and having a rowing party, which went viral during the tournament.
Supporters in stadiums have mimicked the motion of rowing while repeatedly shouting “Hu.” The chant is believed to have been inspired by the rowing of Viking longships, a nod to Norway’s rich Viking heritage and maritime history
Erling Haaland himself said on social media: “One thing to do today… search my name on Google.”
