I admit that I am worried about today. My foot seems more sore than yesterday. Fortunately, applying pressure to the bottom of the foot is not painful.

I’m also sad. I am not sure if I can return, when, and if I should do something else if I can. Those answers will arrive on time. Today’s approach has to be out of the way. I should clean and put my foot back before leaving this morning.

Whitney Creek

He talked to the Colin ranger along the way. I told him that I did not anticipate help, but I wanted him to be aware of my circumstances. He thinks that PCT for Cottonwood is a safer option for me to self -evacing. I could see hot/dry climb from Rock Creek. He says he will be in the ranger cabin tonight.

The hikers who cross rock Creek saw very reluctant to wet feet. I have only seen 2 wet feet crosses (one with bare feet) and 4 made a trunks crossing. I did not see many hip belt/sternum sinkuckledc as recommended for crosses.

I saw Taylor in Rock Creek for the first time from PVC. She said she thinks about the expression I told about not changing her walk for a cheese hamburger. It was also useful for me, trying to stay at the time and not miss pleasant/beautiful things because I was too focused on my foot.

Hiker crossing Rock Arroy

There was an incredibly beautiful waterfall in Rock Creek (at approximately mile 761.2) between the crossing and the ranger cabin.

Filipino (then?) And her friend (whom I last saw on the score of 1000 km) saw me taking my rest. They asked to use images of me playing the guitar on the 1000 km score in a PCT documentary about Mind & Body. They also asked if there was something they could do to help me with my foot (he offered voluntary help).

They also mentioned a beautiful 0.5m lake ahead. I saw him and decided that he had walked enough. It is very shallow, as if it will dry later in the summer. But it has many interesting rocks that stand out and I can check it on the really vertical rock faces that I had been admiring. I think it is one of the most incredible views I’ve had on the way.

Day 51 hiking – the walk

See on the other side of the lake from my camp

He would never have camped here and had seen this spectacular place if he had not hurt his foot. Nor would I have seen the waterfall I saw before. Both would make good points for a shorter loop trip around Cottonwood Pass. We could spend the night 1 here at the lake, night 2 in the waterfall and night 3 per rock Creek somewhere. It would be an incredible short loop that others, without legs of hikers, could do and enjoy.

The frogs are making noise periodically and then remain silent. In addition to that, I listen to birds, an occasional squirrel and, sometimes, the breeze (which has been mostly quiet … certainly not cold).
