Badminton Asia Junior Mixed Team Championships: India beats Sri Lanka in the opening match

India started his badminton Asia Junior Mixed Team Championships campaign in style when the Sri Lanka 110-69 in his group D collision in Indonesia on Friday.

The mixed Doubles combination of Vishnu Kode and Reshika You started the Mars of India with an 11-5 victory over Keneth Aruggoda and Isuri Attanayake in the Esta-Futing System where a team had to take 110 points to win the game.

Sisters Gayatri and Mansa Rawwat then expanded India’s lead to 22-14 against Attanayake and Sithumi de Silva for Junior World No. 1 Tanvi Sharma stamped her class against Sithuli Ranasinghe to make the 33-21 for India.

No India singles player or couple lost an 11-point relay and by the time the game reached half mark, the winners had taken a 55-31 lead.

India will now come across on Saturday in the United Arab Emirates in his second group match before taking on Sunday against Hong Kong China, which could decide who surpasses the classification of the group.

Fiba Women’s Asia Cup, Division B: India from the semi -final race

The basketball team of the ladies of India lost 76-93 to Thailand and ended the hope of reaching the semi-final of the Fiba Women’s Asia Cup (Division B) in Shenzhen, China, on Friday.

India takes on Kazakhstan in a classification match for the 5th-6th place on Saturday.

Punjab FC extends Leon Augustinus’s contract until 2027

Punjab FC announced the extension of Leon Augustine’s contract prior to the coming season on Friday.

The versatile player stays in the club until 2027. The 26-year-old initially signed for the Shers in the 2023-24 season and will continue his journey with the club after a few impressive versions last season, where he played for the club in several positions.

After making only four in total performances in his first season in the club, Leon made 20 performances in the ISL last season and played 1020 minutes and once scored against Odisha FC.

Shillong Lajong calls Birendra Thapa as a new head coach

Meghalaya’s Shillong Lajong FC On Friday, former player and old club employee Birendra Thapa appointed the new head coach of the club prior to the upcoming I-League season.

Popularly known as a coach Biru, Thapa brings almost two decades of experience, after he has been associated with the club since 2001 in several roles, including player, team manager and assistant coach.

Thapa played for the club from 2001 to 2009 and was part of the historical team that qualified for the I-League season 2009-10.
