Day 114: We had a wonderful and big breakfast at Shaw’s Hostel this morning. It was fun to socialize with all hikers, many of whom were sunny. Shaw’s was our favorite shelter along the way. The poet gave us intel necessary in the detour around Little Wilson, Big Wilson and Long Pond Stream, since they are still insecure for the recent rain. We had our first day in the 100 mile desert today, 20 miles and 5,100 feet rise. The weather was beautiful. Ryan discovered that his father was attracted to Moine’s permission in Maine this year. We arrived in a plane crash place towards the end of the day. We camp with a beautiful view, one of our prettiest camps on this walk.

Day 115: Our motivation this morning was to arrive at Mike and Patti for lunch in Gulf hagus. They made us a delicious lunch. Hot dogs, cheese hamburgers, taco salad, watermelon, brownies. We fill ourselves while we go out with Mike and Patti and continue trekking. It was a difficult day, a lot of ascending and descending. We receive our first Katahdin site today! That was an exciting moment. 22 miles, 6,500 feet of ascent. Camping in a camp for a shelter, he tried to set fire, but it was a failure. I will never give him a firewood for granted! We were exhausted anyway, we had dinner and then headed to bed to rest for another day tomorrow!

Day 116: First, if I had to describe today in two words, it would be hot and buggy! Ellie accepted his name as a Swiss path given by me. She remains neutral when my dad and I have our fun disagreements and ask her opinion, Lol! He also had a winter wedding, so it is appropriate. Patti and Mike returned once again and brought us lunch/dinner. Around 3 pm and 15 miles in time we had to load our electronic products in their truck, sit and eat watermelon, barbecue chicken and potato salad. We drank Gatorade, chocolate milk and fill our waters. They also brought us our replenishment. Ryan and my dad took a dip before eating due to heat. We went with complete bellies and hearts. We walk until we reach around 26 miles, only 2,500 feet of promotion for the day! It was the most buganza section that I had walked in AT and my life. It was quite miserable. My dad called him the triple crown because there were black flies, mosquitoes and deer flies, but the mosquitoes were the worst. At one point, Ryan put on his full rain team even though he was very hot and humid. My legs were already covered with mistakes before today, so I was not a happy camper. The itching was so intense and uncomfortable. I complained about that, but I also lowered my head and walked until we no longer needed to walk. We land in a camp next to a current. As soon as we get there, we all leave our packages, we take off the socks and shoes, and immerse ourselves in the current. He felt stimulating. The mosquitoes were still happy even though the sun was could. We put long sleeves and pants, we had cooked, we got into our tents and went to bed.

Day 117: Last full day in the 100 mile desert, 22 miles, rise of 3,500 feet. Very hot and humid. He took several breaks to splash water on our faces or camel. Eagle Eye took advantage of many opportunities to immerse his head under water and my father dropped his backpack and walked coincidentally along the lake with his shoes on and overturned. We are very excited to get to Abol Bridge tomorrow and finish this walk! We take sauces in Rainbow Pond and install camp. We were all roasted of heat, and fortunately it cooled enough to be comfortable tonight.

Day 118: 18 easy miles today. We had a brief walk in the morning to the Abol bridge. Ellie (Swiss) completed the 100 mile forest and all of us too! Patti and Mike, and Melissa, Jacob and their two children, Oliver and Cooper, received us in Abol Bridge, and Melissa, Jacob and their two children Oliver and Cooper, all part of the Fitch Company family. Oliver and Cooper had shirts that had our trail names on them, which was so sweet! We all have lunch together and it was a wonderful to complete the celebration of 100 miles of the desert/pre katahdin! We ate Italian sandwiches and all kinds of sweets. When growing and living in Maine, it will be good to say that we have completed the 100 mile desert. Once we finished eating, we knew we had pending businesses, so we started. The rest of the walk was easy for land.
We went in Katahdin Stream and went to the numbers of hikers 31 and 32. At the beginning of our trip when we registered at the Visitor Center of the Amicallala Falls State Park, we were numbers of hikers 410 and 411. Then, in Harpers Ferry, we were numbers of hikers 40 and 41. We camped in Birches tonight with three waves. We had a good conversation about a beautiful fire, we had dinner and headed to bed. My mother, Celine, Jackson, Becca and Cait will stay at Patti and Mike’s Camp tonight in Millinockt and know us in the park on Thursday morning. Cait is a close friend and photographed the photos and wedding of Ryan and I, and I will be there to capture the end of my father and the trip of me! She has really been there capturing the most precious moments of life perfectly! You just wait until you see the photos.
‘It was the night before Katahdin. Today he started hitting. The trip is coming to an end. I climb four months, although he has felt like a trip of his life, he has felt more than four months. We have family and friends who know us tomorrow for our last climb that leads to the summit of Katahdin. I am very proud of my dad and I, not only of our physical strength but also of our mental abilities. The AT has taught me to appreciate the little things, which are the great things of life. I will not take a blush again for sitting! Being able to make all this trip, every step of the road with my dad is something that I will treasure forever. We did it together, as a team. I did not walk through the AT, my dad and I went to the AT as one. We are excited to resume normal life, but we will lose the moments on the way together to the best of holes, because we will never recover that, but we can always look back in memories. Tomorrow turns a new chapter, ending the AT and moving to the next adventure. I am crying while I write this at the Birch Refuge in the store. It’s 9:24 pm and we are waking up at 5:45 am, so it’s better to sleep a little. But how can I sleep, is the night before Katahdin? So many emotions. I can’t wait to reflect anymore. Also in a funny note, after my dad hung the food bags and we were in the store, I looked at my dad and said: «I think my phone is hung on the food bags.» His phone was also missing and I thought I could have placed them both in my bag. Indeed, my dad knocked my food bag and our two phones were hanging. He coated the bag and marched on stating that it was a classic.
