The morning stretch implied a walk through the southern and north peaks. The trend of extreme humidity glasses continued the trend and, while I ascended, I felt that I was entering the world of clouds in Super Mario Bros 3 (although it is still sunny and brilliant over the clouds there, not so much here). There were some steep parts, but nothing too wild.
My mentality entered New Hampshire; What I know will be necessary is to slow down things. I will let the path and my body tell me how much land can be covered. This morning was my first small proof of putting this in an action.
A little moody, right? Quite standard here in the at

I am not shedding one for my friends, just tilting my cup to see my great supreme mocha 😅
I had a good breakfast in a place labeled as «Ledges». Maybe 6 miles had been for 2.5 hours of hiking and the Mocha and Lucky Charms cereal made the trick to increase my energy levels. It was also good to leave the rest, everything went down for a while.
Near the bottom, I found two hikers taking a break at the water source, a low current. The boy was kind enough to point out a small leaf waterfall that had created for better water filling access. I appreciated this type of gesture and I could talk to them. Not much in the conversation that I knew are from Florida near Tampa and I have already been sectioning the AT for ten years! They have everything to the north of this full point and I believe that every Georgia too. An amazing achievement.
Thinking that I would try to change the perspective, I start taking close -up photos. This is always fun for me. I am not a photographer, but the word texture reaches mine. When approaching these small scale, the texture seems to appear. I fall.

Does anyone know what these Funky White Plants are? I have seen them for a while now and, although every time I think of having a photo, I have spent them. Until now, that is. I had it in the head that they were «dead», but I don’t believe it now. I wonder if they flourish at some point and how is that, if so.
The next one was a blow from less than 1,000 feet to more than 2,000 and then back down. Fun, huh? It wasn’t so bad.

I could have an audible «Wow!» From me in this point of view.

I thought you could be curious to know what the photo above was, so here is the zoomada version haha
I arrived at Grant Brook around 12:45 pm for lunch. It was not large enough for a dip, but I put on the shoes and socks for a little soaked feet. Leaving this point, I started the climb to Smart Mountain, which would take me to more than 3,000 feet again. I was threatening to assault all the way. I could listen to thunder and even see the rain looking out, but apart from some stocamed winds, it seemed to pass without hitting my area.
The walk had some open ridges that I really liked. The exposed rock was fun to walk and there is something to have a bit of opening that attracts me.

Gneiss!? Any geologist to confirm or deny?

Some eroded paths

And a trail that you could say that people spent numerous dedicated hours building wonderful works of art
On the top of Mountain Smarts, there was a fire surveillance tower that was open. I walked my way to the top and I had a good look. It is always good when you get a light blue sky for the views. Today was not that, but at the same time, I could still see some forms and the sky had that bad mood with the clouds rolling to add some character. Pretty stellar, I thought.
Originally, he had planned to charge in the camp on Smarts Mountain. As part of my deceleration strategy, I thought this was a good goal for the greatest amount above and down throughout the day. However, around 3:30 pm, I felt it was too early to stop and I still felt that I had energy in the tank. Deciding to continue moving another four or five miles to the next refuge, I continued.
The elevation change was quite significant today. There was no super long or large climb, but it joined and that energy tank was exhausted when I approached at the end of the day.
I knew that to get to the Hexacuba shelter, there was a short side path of AT. What I didn’t tell was that it was steep uphill. In my sad and exhausted end of the day, I curse aloud to the horrendous thing. How did they dare to put it so far from the path? An outrage. Only after seeing the structure and leaving my backpack, did you give me a good mind having gratitude that such an incredible characteristic exists at all?
Starting, I had the place for me. Finally, a southern hiker called Cat appeared and the two remained in the fort at night. There have been many suddenly. It is fun to see them and listen to glimpses of their stories while we spend each other. Chatting with Cat was a great opportunity to immerse himself a little more in the mentality towards the south and how things differ from the Nebo experience.
Around 7:00 pm, a storm passed. It was fast, but the spit rain blew in the shelter enough so that we both moved our things back. Then, the sun rose again and was cooler and it was a beautiful night.
For a while, I have had the idea of establishing the inner mesh part of my store inside a shelter. I put my scheme in action tonight. Look, part of my problem with the sleep of the shelter are mosquitoes, so this would solve that. Essentially, everything I did was to tie a rope to the two points where my trekking posts normally hold it, and then put things inside and extend the weight to each corner. He was comically sad and fallen, but once inside and not moving anymore, he did the trick! It is not an ideal movement for most nights, but with so much space available in Hexacuba, it worked for tonight.
The number of miles traveled every day and if it is considered a lot or little is all related to each hiker. For me, with the elevation change factor, this was pressing it today. I did more than I had planned and paid the price for that reason to obtain everything. In that sense, I suppose I failed the decelerated test haha. So now I will have to see how my body reacts and if you feel as if everything does again tomorrow. Hopefully!
