I felt energetic and well today. In addition, the land did not have many difficult sections. The path was relatively soft and I could continue walking all day without breaks.
With so many people camping in Lake Gilmore, he felt as if he were part of a hiking bubble. I kept seeing the same hikers again and again while they or I take breaks and pass each other.
I love how this tree has wrapped around all rocks

I had always heard that Fontanillis is a very beautiful lake. But I had never come there. As my bear can was so full of leaving the city yesterday, I could not fit in my cold bowl in it during the night. Then, I chose to eat a sandwich when I got up, start soaking my oatmeal and breakfast in Fontanillis.

Middle Velma was one of our campsites on the 2016 backpacking trip here with young people. My memories were from a lake surrounded by a bowl of large rocks with only a few scattered flat points for tents. The tents of our group were scattered everywhere.
I didn’t really go down to the lake today, but I was close enough for some photos.

Much today was on their way to Rockbound Valley. He was still waiting to obtain excellent views in this valley, but the PCT did not approach enough to the edge. There were almost always many trees along the way.
He also wanted to see if he could get to Donner Pass the next day. But, after having covered only 13 of the 63 miles between the 50’s highway and Donner spend the day before, he would need to cover 25 miles per day in the next few days.
Brave deer. He hid briefly behind the tree but did not run away.

Barker Pass was the last climb of the day. The campsites a little beyond the pass were high and the Tahoe lake were overlooked. Most of the store sites with excellent views were taken when I got there. But I met a couple who had previously met that they were having dinner at the last store. They planned to walk for 5 more miles and said the place could have. So I stayed there that night.
