Liverpool loses a friendly against AC Milan in Hong Kong pre-season

AC Milan defeated Liverpool 4-2 in a pre-season friendly in Hong Kong on Saturday when the record signing of the Premier League Club, Florian Wirtz, made his first start.

Former Liverpool -Manager Kenny Dalglish put a wreath for the game, and the players had «Diogo J 20» on their shirts in honor of their former teammate Diogo Jota, who died with his brother Andre Silva in a car accident in Spain this month.

The English champion fell at the back in the 10th minute when Rafael Leao scored from a Christian Pulisic Pass. Dominik Szoboszlai leveled 20 minutes later with a curly shot from the edge of the box after an assist from Rio Ngumoha hung on a long ball from Ryan Gravenberch.

Leao orchestrated a devastating counterattack when Milan asked the leadership back in the second half. The Portuguese wing player flowed past Conor Bradley on the left flank and squared for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who shot home from the box.

Mamardashvili replaced Alisson Becker in the second half, while the new defender of Milan Pervis Estupinan, who joins Brighton & Hove Albion, also made his debut.

Wirtz and Ngumoha were the highlights for Liverpool in the first half, and Jeremie Frimpong impressed in the second, but the team of Arne Slot was surpassed by his Italian opponent.
