Day 81 – Thinking about the future

We all ended up camping about 14 miles from the path near Chester last night. It’s hot and tried to get up early to overcome heat, but I didn’t do it as well as I planned. It’s 6:30 am and I’m on the way, once again, north. Last night he cooled a lot, but it still had a hard time sleeping. I am not sure why, because I usually sleep very well along the way, but things happen, sometimes we don’t know why.

Tactream and Snap left approximately one hour before me, and I hope that Lightning McQueen does not leave the camp for another 30 minutes. Meanwhile, I am doing what I do every day when I try to bring some life to my legs. I am always quite rigid and a little loose during the first mile more or less every day, but by the time I get to mile two, I usually feel quite well. That lasts until at least mile 15, sometimes a little more and then fatigue enters until it stops me. Now we have ended half the kilometer of walking, but much further in time. Certainly I am not going to average 25 all the way home, my mileage will be higher than the 17 or so that I averaged (including zeros) in the desert and Sierra. Meanwhile, it is resumed at the same time, one day at the same time, and one step at the same time is what will catch me where I am now standing in an area of burns in California to the Canadian border at some time in September.

After more than two months, it seems that I am reaching the end of California. One step at the same time, of course. We are planning 25 miles days today and tomorrow, and then a shorter day at the Burney Mountain guest ranch. From there, it is only 275 miles from the Oregon border. Definitely, some stops are needed in the middle, but now I can tell the remaining resupply in California, on the one hand, and that is a bit exciting. He will take 3 weeks to get to Oregon, and then I am practically at home. I am ahead of myself, especially for someone who has just mentioned one step at the same time in the previous paragraph. But, the emotion of the end, no matter how far it is quite motivating. But for now, I have a lot to walk for today, and that is my number one priority.
