Day 26: 24.8 miles
The highlights: ankle pain and aggressive dogs
This morning I went to bed in my store and decided that it would begin a little later than usual because I would prefer to spend time here in this place of nature than in the camp at night on a dirt road and a highway.
I started walking a little after 7 am and my left ankle felt sore to start the day. The pain was more prominent when it extended between 10 o’clock and 12 o’clock. I don’t remember doing anything to bother him, but took it into account throughout the day.
I stopped for lunch next to a stream, I put on the rain team for insect protection and took a 30 -minute nap supporting my legs in the package. After lunch, the ankle was still a little sore, but now the most prominent between 2 o’clock and 5 o’clock when making ankle circles. At least it is changing, but I will continue to take into account.

After lunch, the path followed a dirt road towards a cross. About 0.3 miles from the crossing was the first property I have seen in several days. There were comments in Farout about aggressive dogs that bark on hikers, but when I went through the property I did not hear or heard anything.
Then, two yellow labrador mixtures began to bark when it was several hundred feet away. Then the barking became stronger. I kept focused on the cattle guard right in front and continued advancing. One of the dogs jumped to my backpack and scared myself. I channeled the dog whisper and kept myself calm and assertive. I turned to look at the dogs and in a quiet but strong voice said «no» and «stay behind» as I continued walking towards the cattle guard. After passing the rack, the dogs stopped following me and continued for a long time without stopping or looking behind me.
In the afternoon, the rain sprinkled and went, and I could see and listen to the highway to my left. I saw a darker set of storm clouds that approached and hoped to reach my planned camp before I did. At 5 pm, I made my miles for the day and created minutes of the camp before a two -hour storm filmed. I camped behind a path of path a little back from the road, hoping that the sign would help hide my shop in the store of those who pass. I relaxed in the store and then ate a late scrue dinner with peanut butter and sriracha. I had cell service, so I planned options for the city’s food tomorrow and then called it one night.

Day 27: 9.4 miles
Outstanding: wind wind trade. Deep tissue massage. New shoes.
During the night I thought it smelled like a short and the aroma vanished when he turned to sleep again. This morning I realized that the smell was my hiking shirt and next to my sleeping pad. It is definitely time for a shower and laundry in the city.
I was packed and walking at 6:15 am and threw my garbage on the garbage can near the start of the path. I walked a mile on a dirt road to the highway, then towards the front road. The rest of the city walk was on a 70 MPH -free road. I had to be alert to what other drivers were doing and moving downhill if they were not doing space on the road. I was glad to do this in the morning when I was fresh and also the drivers along the way.
The road walk made a fast hiking while walking 9 miles at 9 am each miles was told by a marker on the road. I arrived in the city so early that I stopped at a donut service station and went to the laundry to wash my clothes before registering in the motel.

Once my room was ready, I cleaned and relaxed a little. Then, I walked towards the shelter with my empty backpack and a rain jacket and picked up my resupply boxes. I have new shoes, a summer quilt and new toiletries. My parents through many excellent bars and desserts for me to try too. I packed everything in my backpack and then headed to bed.
Day 28: 0 miles.
The highlight: Italian food with friends of trails. Chiropractor.
I woke up at 6 am as usual, but forced myself to stay in bed resting another hour before stirring. I had a little cold coffee that I bought at the grocery store and I met my parents about how the path has gone. From there I went to the hotel breakfast, which was incredible with a large selection of cereals, cakes, gofres and yogurt. I filled back to the room.

I showered and then turned between task activities and relaxation activities for most of the day. I took lunch in O’Bella next to it and it was so good that I had dinner again with 2 trail friends.
In the afternoon, I went to the city again to see Anaconda outdoors and grab a little permethrin. Then I went to a local chiropractor to adapt before returning to dinner and the hotel at night.
Downtown Anaconda
It was a good day zero, but there always seems to be things that fill the time and I never had the opportunity for a nap or a movie today. Maybe next time..
