Namdhari FC continued his winning run in the 2025 Durand Cup with a commander 4-2 victory over the Indian Air Force football team in their group A-confession in the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata.
Samuel K opened the score for the airmen in the 7th minute, but the i-League side reacted with goals from Cedson Dasilva, Amandepee Singh and second half strikes from Dharmpreet Singh and replaced Seilenthang Lotjem to secure all three points.
Namdhari got into trouble when Manbir Singh was sent away in the 73rd minute for a reckless challenge, reducing it to 10 men. Sankit hit a loose ball to withdraw a back for the Air Force in the 78th minute, and despite further pressure from the pilots in the final phase, the I-League side held.
With the victory, Namdhari is comfortable at the top of group A with six points from two games, in a strong position for a place in the quarterfinals prior to the crucial collision against East Bengal on Wednesday (August 6).
