Today I walked Fisherman’s path from Arrifana to Carrapateira 0 A solo section had been craving since the beginning of this trip.
Distance: 20 km
Path section: Arrifana to Portapateira
Conditions: Sunny skies, warm temperatures, oceanic breeze
The highlights of the Fishermen’s Path Arrifana to the Portateira section
This morning he began in a 6 -bed female bedroom in the Lighthouse hostel, and let’s say it wasn’t my best sleep night on the road. Nothing terrible, but definitely the low point in terms of sleep. I think it is safe to say: my bedroom chapter could be officially behind me. I am too old for this, haha.
I took breakfast in a local bakery and supplied myself with bread and paths, I packed a couple of crosss (which later became the perfect delight of hiking). I decided to walk alone today and meet Orion, Sandra and Oliver in the city tonight. So, around 9:30 am, I left on my own.
For the first time on this path, I decided to walk alone. I loved laughter and connection with my path of the path, but I yearned for a little space to be with myself: reflect, move at my own pace and absorb tranquility.
All smiles and solo vibrations. On the 7th he started with the sun, the crosss and a little space to be with myself. Come on!
On my own: Reflecting for 12 kilometers of road walk
I called my mother to wish her a happy Easter and met my family for a few minutes. He got me. Full -time trips mean missing vacations and family dinners, and today felt bittersweet. I miss being with them. But I am also very proud of the life I choose, even when it means being far.
The first 12 km or so were mostly walks in the interior path, which helped me move quickly, but did not offer much on the path of views. Even so, time only felt like what I needed.
BY THE WAY – If you missed my blog yesterday on the path of the fishermen, I would recommend checking it!

Steps alone, constant rhythm. The road walk was not picturesque, but it gave me the space I needed to reflect and connect again.
Paz by the sea: find my flow on the path of the fishermen
When I finally met with the coast, I put my paint of Therm-a-Ret (also known as my yoga mat) and took a long break by the sea. The sun shone, the waves were calm.
It always has been established in the rhythm of hiking. That inner noise not only disappears. But today I found it: stillness, flow, the presence I had been longing for.

Back on the coast and back in flow. I stretched in my pad, listened to the waves and finally felt that deep and quiet ease that I had lost.
Salt water + laugh: an improvised swimming of the ocean in Cartrapetaira
Just when the path descended to the beach, I caught again with the group, and convinced Orion that I ran in the ocean with me. We immerse ourselves, completely dressed, colliding with the waves. He did not feel cold until we left, soaked and without towels, laughing and trembling in the sand.
We will stay together tonight in a cozy apartment in Carrapateira. After the showers and the time of inactivity, we went to the city so it turned out to be my favorite food on the road so far.

Soaked, salty and smiling. Nothing like a cold Atlantic fall to feel completely alive. 10 would run again in the waves again.

I can’t have enough of these rock formations, just look how great this is! Nature really appeared with this coast.
Easter on the path: seafood, green vinho and the joy of gathering
We start with the percebs of the swan neck (the most strange and delicious delicacy of Portugal) and share a rich seafood casserole with potatoes. We ask not one, but two green vinho pitchers, which, of course, led to even more laughs and joy. The perfect Easter celebration, Trail Edition.

Clams, shrimp, octopus and potatoes bubbling in a dreamer seafood casserole. He shared this party after the campaign with Orion and was undoubtedly the best dinner on the entire path. Coastal comforting food at its expression.

Cisne neck perceptions, AKA perceptions, the most strange (and tasty) oceanic snack of Portugal.
3 things I will remember today:
-
Sometimes, walking alone is exactly what your heart needs <3
-
The crossings are excellent fuels for paths.
-
Nothing of the cold ocean + green vinho = a very good day.
Tomorrow we will be walking from Carrapateira to Vila do Bispo. See you tomorrow for day 8 on the path of fishermen!
