This morning I woke up around 6 in the morning of my room’s sound. I was surprised to listen to someone stirring so early. Usually, in shelters, hikers tend to sleep. I always feel that I am the only sick one raised and leaving the bed, bright and early in the morning.
They left and then I got up and packed my things. I thought I would have my bag ready before going to breakfast. I arrived a little to the main building before breakfast began. Then he grabbed coffee and sat with another hiker. For my life, I can’t remember your name! I know in fact, he starts with an T. But we ended up talking about my friend Sunshine, who kept the magic somewhere in Virginia with her boyfriend and baby. We stayed in an Airbnb with them for two nights at the time. Apparently, the hiker with whom I had breakfast today had met the sun on the PCT in 2022 in Washington. It turned out that we were all there at the same time.
Basically known the best PCT hiker today. Take this belt that allows you to wear multiple drinks at the same time. I was so jealous. I think I might need to get one of these.
I sat down and had breakfast with him and some of his friends. It was really nice to talk to people and have a slow start for the day. Breakfast was a great propagation of eggs, bacon, sausages, potatoes, pancakes and fruits. I ate a lot of food and felt really good. A lot of hikers ended up at breakfast, so I could talk to some more of them.
After eating, I went to the small property store to get some food for today and tomorrow. I do not need a lot of things, but I definitely do not have enough to get to Lunsmuir. However, the good thing is that I will happen Burney Falls today. In about 10 miles I will pass the crossing for the waterfall. And there is also a general store next to the waterfall too. Just as one could imagine in nature. But that means that I can get some kind of gift or snack while there.
One of my favorite things about the guest ranch of Burney Mountain is that they have a great water tank on the property that can «sign.» The hikers are painting their hands and stamping the Tamp. Then sign your name next to your hand. So I did that and then prepared to go out for the day. While there was property, there were almost 10 other hikers walking at the same time. I don’t think I had experienced that on the PCT. Sometimes I see many people in the city, but I never see so many people along the way. Perhaps during the course of a whole day or in a large tent site.

Leaving my impression at Burney Mountain Guest Ranch. You can’t miss this stop along your walk!
He knew that Burney Falls’s first miles were going to be super friendly and gradual. Basically it was all plane or gradual downhill. In addition, I even had some service. So I ended up calling my mother and we were up to date. I feel that I have spoken a lot with my parents recently, which has been a really pleasant change of rhythm. Previously, I never had service and I felt that I had not talked to them in weeks. So now every time I have, I decide just give them a ring and talk for a while between things. Then I could also do some load and see some YouTube. One of my favorite things to do while I am walking.

The path looked a lot like this most of the morning.

Only 1200 miles to Canada!
Time flying while heading towards Burney Falls. And I must have literally fly because I think I did the approximately 10 miles there in approximately three hours. Which is great and meant that in reality he would have already compensated for the fact that Burney Falls is a side path. Then, the time I saved this morning was basically the same as the time I would go through the general store and the waterfall.

Burney Falls!
The first thing I did when I arrived at Burney Falls was to drink some drinks and ice cream. Then I walked with an ice cream to see the waterfall. Multitasking at its expression. When I returned, I sat down and finished eating. Then he poured some Gatorade in my water bottles and took a bull network. It would still be a long day. The following miles would be quite easy. Then a long climb would begin during most of the rest of the day.

Sunday for the second breakfast.
After I finished eating and left the store, the path was cold during the next hour or so. Then I started the long and gradual time during the next two hours. It really wasn’t so bad at all. However, I ended up finding two rattlesnakes today. One was just one foot or two from the path. And the other must have been so close, but I could never see it. The path was sometimes very covered today. So I should have had a good time and I alerted it. But I couldn’t see it physically.

Crossing a bridge and a river along the path.
That was probably the only inconvenience of all day. The path was not so bad, but it was quite covered here and there. Some sections simply scrape against your legs. Others were really high and almost hung on their head. Making it so you had to be a bit a bit while walking. However, the curious thing was that someone commented by saying that you should walk through this section because «it is a jungle.» But in reality it was not remarkably more covered than the path has been occasionally. People can be so dramatic, especially in far.

I really enjoyed the parts of the day when the path was open like this. Other times it was incredibly covered.
There were many beautiful wild flowers along with the path today, which was great. Especially a large amount of Fireweed through this section. During most today there were many in trail water sources. I loaded when I left the ranch this morning. Then I received more drinks in Burney Falls. But finally, as the day progressed, he needed bad water and there were no sources along the way. Usually, I try to avoid getting out of the water way if it is the last thing I do. But unfortunately, the moment finally arose where it was inevitable.

Usually, I despise graffiti in the markers of trails. At least this was well done.
When I went to the next road, I recognized him immediately since 2022. I had actually stopped right next to the road. Then we walk to grab our water at night. It really wasn’t so steep or distant. It was certainly not correct along the way. I think the Spur path was probably approximately .2 miles. I went down quickly and grabbed a liter or two of water. Then I continued, hoping another handful of miles for the day.

Climbing towards the end of the day.
When I put myself towards the upper part of this next climb, there were some really beautiful tent places. I guess we are going to get some incredible views of Shasta here. So I was excited about the perspective of having a lovely campaign place for the night. And although he was at the Burney Mountain guest ranch this morning; It was still going to be a day of 35 miles. I am very proud of my ability to stay and enjoy the city, and achieve great miles. And doing so is not destroying my sleep schedule or that I have a lot of time I do many night walks. I feel that I found a great balance on this path. Especially considering the most meek conditions.

Thus he approached my destiny, the sky began to get bright and beautiful.
As I climbed more and more, I realized that the views were about to be incredible. Then, slowly but surely, the sun began to wear, and began to glimpse Shasta in the distance. The snow -covered mountain, surrounded by the bright pink and the oranges in the sky, was incredible. I saw some comments on the tent sites at the top and I hope to find a pleasant one. But as I approached me, I could listen to people to speak. I met some girls who were sitting at a sight that had zero views.

Beautiful Fireweed!
I exclaimed that I thought the opinions were going to be better here. They explained that there really was a really pleasant tent place just ahead. But a guy had occupied space for approximately two or three tents for his only store. And the other space had three people who camp on it. That was definitely disappointing, but there was nothing to do. I finished the tents just ahead on the road and had some decent views. But just behind me through the bushes, the path opened with perfect views of Shasta. I went to take some photos and I could see the guy who had clearly camped on the center of a great place. Probably because he didn’t want anyone to join him. And the other hikers had just put in a small place and Configured without your tents.

These were the views of Mount Shasta from that store site. I still had some views from where I stayed at night, but nothing like you are.
The views were unreal and that would probably have been one of the best sites in tents in which I had housed me. But I put my tent about 15 feet away and then began to prepare dinner and all at night. It was nice to enter just before dusk, even after just 35 miles for the day. And I hope to have a good early start tomorrow to be able to go further. It is madness that can do 35 miles in a day when I don’t start early. It really makes me realize how much mileage I can do if I start early.
