No Messi, no victory? Muriel Nets brace while Inter Miami 1-4 loses to Orlando City


Luis Muriel scored a goal in every half and Martín Ojeda had a goal and an assist to lead Orlando City to a 4-1 win over Inter Miami in a Major League Soccer (MLS) match on Sunday evening.

Muriel scored in the second minute to give Orlando City. But the management that only lasted three minutes when Yannick Bright scored his first career goal – in 40 performances – to even attract Miami.

Ojeda gathered his 13th assist on Muriel’s goal and then scored his 14th in the second half to give Orlando City a 3-1 lead, so that he has his goal contributions to 27 NAM most in the competition this season.

Marco Pašalić then did not score – supported in the 88th minute – his 10th goal in his first season in the competition – to complete a comfortable victory.

Miami Superstar Lionel Messi, who is connected to Sam Surridge of Nashville SC for the League lead with 18 goals, missed the game due to a right leg injury. The 38-year-old suffered on 2 August in a competition cup match against Necaxa.

Orlando City jumps to fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Head coach Oscar Pareja needs another victory to reach 100 in all competitions.

Miami is in sixth place, but has three games in hand against the top four and two in hand against fifth place Columbus Crew.

Miami will organize the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday. Orlando City organizes Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.
