Paris Saint-Germain has signed Centrum-Back Illia Zabarnyi of the Premier League side Bournemouth on a five-year contract, said the European champion Tuesday, in which the 22-year-old became the first Ukrainian player of the French club in history.
Financial details were not announced, but Media reports said the transfer costs were worth around 63 million euros (USD 73 million).
The Ukraine International was an important part of Bournemouth’s defensive line-up last season, and made 36 performances when the club first reached a positive goal difference in a Premier League campaign and finished ninth.
Zabarnyi is the latest Bournemouth defender who leaves this summer after Dean Huijsen was signed for Liverpool at Real Madrid and Milos Kerkez.

«I am very happy to become a member of Paris Saint-Germain, the best club in the world, with the best project. I am here to give everything I have on the field and I look forward to making my debut and meeting the fans,» Zabarnyi said in a statement.
Zabarnyi made his senior debut in his hometown club Dyanmo Kyiv before entering Bournemouth in January 2023 with a five -year contract.
The English club has awarded Zabarnyi, known for its aggressive defense and dominance in air duels, with a contract extension until 2029 after an impressive campaign of 2023-24.

Ligue 1 and the Champions League winner PSG is on Tottenham Hotspur for the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday.
