Day 118–119 – Ashland Zero
We did not establish an alarm and woke up around 6:15. Sleeping felt great! With only eight miles to walk before hooking Ashland, we weren’t in a hurry. We had breakfast with friends, while Trail Angels Legend and Bee served pancakes to gluten dining rooms. After chatting for a while, we packed the camp and reach the road.
Thank you, Trail Angels!
The morning was mainly downhill through the forest, so we spent a fast time and we arrived at the road at 10:30. We had barely extended before a truck stopped. Our trip left us at Main Street in Ashland. The soup, the animal and the basket were still full of breakfast, so I joined String, PDF and John in an Indian lunch buffet everything you can eat. He had three dishes of delicious curry before leaving it.
After lunch, I stopped at Gear’s store to get a new pair of shoes: my old men were used and had a large hole. We registered in our Airbnb with friends, and we stretch and offered as a volunteer to handle everyone’s clothes and a career of groceries. After the tasks, we had and saw Happy Gilmore 2 Before fall asleep.
The next day was pure relaxation. My mother -in -law sent us a dehydrated meal box for the next section, a kind gift! I also visited a gluten -free bakery for some treats. Animal made us all a healthy but tasty salad for dinner, and we finished the night with another movie. A zero day after not taking one since Tahoe felt incredible.
Day 120 – Leave the city and meet old friends
I didn’t want to get out of bed this morning. Reluctantly, I got up, had breakfast and eliminated some last tasks before leaving the Airbnb. We relab, then we went to Ruby’s for Burritos (they even had gluten without!). A woman at the restaurant offered us a return trip to the beginning of the path, which we accepted with gratitude.
From the beginning of the path, we gradually climb through the shaded forest. It was hot but manageable. After filling ourselves from the water, we found old friends of trails that we had not seen from Forester Pass, it was such a happy surprise! We met and we hoped to walk together soon.
That night we camp with Rocksie, PDF and stretch, sharing dinner and a good conversation before bedtime.
Day 121 – four months on the road
Four months on the road today! It feels incredible to be almost two thirds. Chowder and I packed and did a quick job of the morning miles: soft and soft path through the forest, with a view to Mount Ashland in the distance. We hit 10 miles at 10 am and take a water break around mile 11.
Unfortunately, my path technology began to give. My Fitbit died during the night (not shocking, given his age), and my Spotify application refused to play most of my discharged content. Fortunately, I still had an audiobook to listen.
We have lunch in the shadow, procrastinating a long climb, then we push it and camp with our friend John. Dinner was a dehydrated meal of Curry Thai of the box that sent my mother -in -law, thanks, mj!
Day 122 – Fish Lake Resort Diction
We started the day with a long descent, walking with PDF and stretch through the forest that finally gave way to lava rock miles. At first he looked great, but quickly became hard on his feet.
Just before the road, we run into the magic of the Merlin path, a former PCT walker: sodas, fried potatoes, fruits and other snacks. What big surprise!

Hurra for the magic of the path!
We hooked Fish Lake Resort, a camp next to the lake with a store and a restaurant. The hamburgers, cold drinks and cargo exits were used. After lunch, we went back and approached 11 more miles, including a long climb. My spotify was still failed, so Chowder shared a headset and instead we stuck in his music. We find space in an occupied camp, we had dinner (Pad Thai for me) and we crash.
Day 123 – Shasta views
We woke up with an icy morning, we feel like the mountains again! The walk warmed us, and soon we met Sprite, Speakeasy and Flash, staying with them for several miles.
The water has been scarce this section, so we fill in Summit Lake before addressing a long climb. The views at the top were incredible: the Superior Klamath Lake and Mount Shasta in the distance. We also arrive at the 1800 mile brand. Less than 900 to go!

Crostant thousands!
My spotify quit smoking again, which was frustrating: the podcasts music and podcasts are a mental impulse for me. I decided to change applications once we arrived in the city. Chowder once again shared his songs, and we finished the day camping with friends, ready for Mazama Village tomorrow.
Day 124 – Village de Mazama
We had 11 easy miles for the town of Mazama, mainly through a burning zone. On the main road, hooked was slow, so we walked by 1.5 miles, exceeding a long line of cars at the entrance of the park and we entered faster than them.
We settled in the Hiker camp, we obtained some extra food of friends and lunch at the restaurant while we load devices. After the laundry of the shower, the replenishment and a successful incursion of the hiker box, we went out with stretch and PDF before spending the night.
Day 125 – Crater Lago
Today we finally saw Crater Lake! After three miles, we joined the Rim Trail, filling bottles in a fountain to drink and stop in a look to marvel at deep blue water. PDF and stretching were updated, and we walked together the path of the tire, taking photos and immersing ourselves in the views before connecting with the PCT again.

Crater Lake is amazing!
At a lunch stop, I realized that I had resolved in Mazama and would be executing a calorie deficit to Shelter Cove. Fortunately, a woman in a cache of water near a popular path among the hikers of a day offered me gluten -free cookies, then I gave me Hummus, an apple, nectarine and carrots, magic at the best time!
The rest of the day was flat through a burning zone and then returned to the healthy forest. I tried a new music/podcast application and I was delighted to recover my listened distraction. We camp with a cache, and I had the hummus, cookies and vegetables of Magic Magic for dinner. Chowder and I ended the day seeing an episode of The Baneo Before drifting.
