Premier League Transfer News: Brentford spends club record costs on Dango Ouattara

Brentford signed Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth for a reported £ 42 million ($ 58 million) on Saturday in a deal that Yoane Wissa could free up to leave the bees.

Ouattara, 23, scored 11 goals in 88 performances for the cherries, since he came to Lorient in 2023.

Brentford confirmed that the transfer is a club record compensation and surpasses the £ 30 million that it spent to Igor Thiago last year.

«We are very happy to get Dango. He is someone we knew it was available and that, once we knew that signing him could be a possibility, we really focused on getting him,» said Brentford Keith Andrews.

«We loved his Premier League experience, even at his young age, and he has not yet found the rhythm due to a lack of consistent playing time.»

Brentford has already lost their manager, top scorer and captain from last season after 10th in the Premier League.

Thomas Frank left to manage Tottenham, Bryan Mbeumo was arrested by Manchester United and Christian Norgaard signed by Arsenal.

Wissa could join that Exodus with Newcastle who was reportedly interested in the Dr. Congo International, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season.
