63-69 days: a full week of zeros

As we were going to be here for at least a few days, Nick went to a clinic to get some medications.

My hunger was starting to return a little, and I could graze some different foods. However, the idea of trail food still rejected me.

The next day, we decided to get out of the house a little, and Nick took me to Letchworth State Park. We drove and look at some waterfalls and a gorge. I felt a little stunned every time I left the car, so we took it easy.

Towards the end of the unit, we stopped to take some snacks. The ice cream and fries sounded very well. I obtained a soft orange swirl service cone, and Nick got a cotton of sugar.

The next day, we went to Rei to take some funny snacks and templates for our shoes. We approached 550 miles in this torque, and although they did not shoot completely, we wanted at least piercing the rocks of Pennsylvania before replacing these high -price items. Unfortunately, our choice shoe runs around $ 170 by the shelf.

We took a couple of miles on foot with our new templates. I thought mine worked very well, while Nick decided that they rubbed too uncomfortable.

We return to Rei the next day to return them for a cork bed couple. I bought some new sleeping shorts and a hat with an elastic back so that hopefully adjusts to my hair and head better than the Cotopaxi hat with which I started.

On the way home, we stopped at Wegman’s to make premium refueling. We have both been carrying the food that we are not planning to eat, so we change some food for good things.

Our two symptoms finally began to decrease on the 4th day of medicines. Our hunger returned with a full hiker force. We were ready to return to the path in the middle of the week, but we had to wait until the weekend to return to the wind gap.

On our last full day in New York, we take a trip to Lake Canandaigua in the Finger Lakes region. We stopped at a restaurant for Brunch. I had just eaten a great yogurt bowl, fruit and granola, so I chose the avocado toast. Then we walk on a part of the lake.

Our last dinner was close to Buffalo in a gourmet pizza restaurant called Pizza Florian. It was one of the best pizzas I’ve had. This was followed by ice cream in Rosie’s. I have corn bread. So delicious.

We arrived at the road at 8 am, a week after we left the path. Nick and I agreed that this break, although longer than we could have anticipated, was very necessary. He gave me a restart of perspective on the way to rediscover what Devils I am doing here. I hope to expel a few days of bigger mile shortly. And we kicked this parasite comfortably.

Again, thanks to Mark, Arlene, Pat and John for rescue and accommodation. You made our involuntary time away from the path a million times better than I could have expected.
