Bournemouth has signed Morocco-wing player Amine Adli on a five-year contract from the German side Bayer Leverkusen, said the Premier League club on Thursday while continuing his recruitment ride after losing several important players.
Financial details were not announced, but British media reported that the 25-year-old Morocco-international born in France was signed for a reimbursement of around 25 million pounds (USD 33.66 million).
ADLI an important player in the unbeaten campaign of Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso, who scored nine times while the side won his first Bundesliga title.
He became the ninth permanent transfer of Leverkusen, according to Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Granit Xhaka, who all moved to the Premier League this summer.
ADLI joins Ben Gannon Doak, Adrien Truffert, Dorde Petrovic and Bafode Diakite as new additions in Bournemouth. The club lost Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, Milos Kerkez to Liverpool and Illia Zabarnyi to Paris St Germain in the short season.
ADLI started his senior career on the French side Toulouse before moving to Leverkusen in 2021. He registered 23 goals and 25 assists in 143 performances for the German club, so that they were helped with an undefeated domestic competition and cup double in the 2023-24 season.
«Amine is a proven winner and someone who will be a real asset to our team,» said Bournemouth’s president of football activities Tiago Pinto in a statement.
«He is someone who participated at the highest level and his ambition is very in line with ours.»
ADLI will join Bournemouth prior to the Premier League Home match on Saturday against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Bournemouth, who finished ninth last season, lost their opener against reigning Premier League champions Liverpool last week with 4-2.
