A cold stop and an interesting slack

After 6 days and more than 100 miles, I needed a shower. Once that box was marked, I put on my «cleaner» clothes and headed for laundry. I was just one block away, who does not love convenience? In addition, for some reason, laundry washing machines take me 10 full minutes to discover how to work every time. I finally replaced my load cable too.

The dinner that night was a hot chicken sandwich from Nashville. After dehydrated meals for a week, that tested Amaaazing. Of course, I had to continue that with a little ice cream. All treats for my quick stay in the city.

I stayed in the snow racket mote in Main Street in Frisco. If you are looking for something elegant, this is not the place, but it is a clean bed, a hot shower and the most convenient for all the city’s food options. It also has a bus station right on the front, which makes it very easy to return to the path.

Slackpacking 7 segment 7

I decided to stay 2 nights in Frisco and Slackpack Segment 7 in the middle. Slackpacking is where you leave the whole team of your camp and have only one day package. I threw some snacks and water, and climbed to the bus.

I opted to loosen this cold to copper segment. Personally, I would not recommend doing it in this way unless you really like the downhill. That elevation will be stinking, but losing 1,000 feet of mile was rough on my fingers already blisted.

I will say that this address has a very cold accent on the mountain. There was smoke in the valley to start, but it was a beautiful day. There were some beautiful stream crosses with well -maintained bridges, and the road was pleasant and relaxed.

If you can dodge a key, can you dodge a … bicycle?

Once again, I found the bicycle race that was taking place (thanks Brekenridge) when I was almost at the top. This time I was not lucky. It was time to play Dodge-A-Bike. It was not far from the top, but all the most competitive riders bombarded the mountain quickly. Fortunately, there were only a few areas where I had to rush to make sure they didn’t hit me in the direction.

In the most steep segments towards the top, both the runners and I were on a level playing field. I was struggling to walk through the most steep segments, and they were playing walk through the rocky areas and strong curves. Several (most?) It seemed that they were having a serious repentance for their elections of the day. The majority were very friendly and grateful to have left aside to let them pass. Ultimately, it was an entertaining afternoon with the runners.

The upper part was beautiful with 360 ° mountains. Even some cyclists stopped to appreciate the view. Unfortunately, now I had to descend a condensed version of the elevation that had just risen. Being me, I also wanted to go down in a certain time to take a previous bus.

It was a steep 4 miles down. I was also periodically playing a less intense version of Dodge-A-Bike, too. Fortunately, time passed without incident and despite my blister fingers, I could descend quickly. I arrived at Copper Mountain and return to the bus stop with only 5 minutes left over. He returned to Frisco. I had time for a resupply, shower and dinner trip, then a final refund before accommodating myself, ready to return to the path the next morning.
