Indian Super League (ISL) champion Mohun Bagan Super Giant has agreed an unknown transfer costs with Mumbai City FC for India defender Mehtab Singh.
Bagan was supposed to anticipate a free transfer for Mehtab next season, in which the 27-year-old entered the last 12 months of his city contract in Mumbai.
But uncertainty around the ISL-Voor Mumbai City and Bagan’s Rise preparations for the AFC Champions League 2, after a derby defeat against East Bengal in the Durand Cup, contributed to the Mariners who match a fee to acquire the player’s services this summer.
Mehtab is planned to undergo his medical investigation this weekend, after which he will officially pens.
Mehtab, a right -sided centerpiece, played 26 times last season for Mumbai City, while he also scored a goal against Hyderabad FC.

He has played 118 times for the club since he came from East Bengal in 2020, making it win the two Isl League winners Shield and Isl Cups.
He won the Intercontinental Cup, the Tri-Nations series and the Saff Championship with India in 2023, and was a reliable center-back option among former head coach Igor Stimac.
The arrival of Mehtab would give Bagan an option of an Indian center-back, as a replacement for Tom Aldred or Alberto Rodriguez in the starting XI, or a replacement for right-wing Asish Rai, which looked fragmentary against East Bengal in the Durand Cup quarter-final defeat.
In the event that Mehtab replaces a foreign center-back, Bagan will have an option to play another foreign player in advance, after verbally agreed the conditions with the Brazilian winger Robson Robinho.
Bagan is signed with Ahal again (Turkmenistan), Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan (Iran) and Al-Hussein (Jordan) in the Champions League Two, and opens the tournament against Ahal Anew on September 16.
