The new signing sessions and young talents of Chelsea hit their pass in the absence of wounded Talisman Colmer on Friday when the World Cup winner of the club World Cup Ran Wild in a 5-1 Premier League break of West Ham United.
Palmer was excluded after having had some muscle pain in the warming, but his teammates quickly granted every fear that it was a setback.
After admitting an early goal in the London Stadium, Chelsea hit back with goals of five different players within an hour to take over at the top of the rankings, even if it was only one night, after two games.
«You could call every Chelsea player as a man of the match, they were absolutely fantastic, especially after losing Palmer for the game, and they were a little rattle 1-0 down,» said former England midfielder Jamie Redknapp on Sky Sports Television.
“But they remained calm and composed, and the quality they had – they look like a large team that will compete this season.
«They had no problems defensively, and there were many impressive versions. They were excellent and aggressive, got the ball, (Moises) Caicedo was an absolute monster in midfield, and it was a really emphatic, big win.»
New signature Joao Pedro played a key role and made the same as the 15th minute equalizer with his first competition goal for Chelsea before Pedro Neto and Captain Enzo Fernandez made it 3-1.
Moises Caicedo, at the age of 100 for the club, and graduated Academy Trevoh Chalobah added two more after the breaks of the corners.
Eighteen-year-old Brazilian winger Estevao, who replaced Palmer in the starting line-up, offered one assist-a perfect pass about the goal for Fernandez to tap and was called man of the game.
Although he did not appear among the goal scorers, Estevao wrote his name in the history of Chelsea as their youngest supplier of a Premier League assist.
He could also have scored in the 73rd, but he hesitated too long if he was clear on goal.
The Brazilian also gave away the ball that fellow countryman Lucas Paqueta enabled West Ham to move forward in the sixth minute, but he later released himself more than redeemed himself.
«He is young, but he showed that he is very mature. He has made good decisions and all the new players, all new signing sessions came here to help the team, to bring something good – good energy, good talent,» said left back Marc Cucurella.
«I think we have a great team and hopefully we can do good things this season.»
