Mohun Bagan Super Giant has completed the signature of India defender Mehtab Singh of Mumbai City FC for a five-year-old deal, the Indian Super League (ISL) announced on Saturday.
The 27-year-old has completed his medically and will participate in the team training on Saturday.
Mehtab won two ISL cups and shields with the islanders and can play as a center-back and a right back. He can also be seen in the AFC Champions League under Coach des Buckingham for Mumbai City.
«Every player dreams of playing for Mohun Bagan. I had that too, and it has now become a reality. The team is one of the best in India and has a lot of foreign players and a large part of the Indian internationals,» Mehtab said.
«I played in the AFC Champions League for Mumbai City and I have won two ISL competitions and cups with them. I will use that experience from the first day in my new club because we play our first Champions League 2 match on September 16.»
«The excitement about football in Kolkata is very different, and Mohun Bagan has the best fan base in the country. I know their passion and I am also aware of their emotions in a derby. I now want to win in the green and chestnut brown and hope to add more trophies to my cabinet,» Mehtab added.
