Swiss federal prosecutors finally ended their case against former FIFA president Sepp Blatter and former UEFA president Michel Platini on Thursday after 10 years and acquitted after two processes.
The office of the Attorney General of Switzerland said that in March in a professional court it would not appeal against acquittal for both men.
The first test took place in 2022 on accusation of fraud, falsification, mismanagement and embezzlement of more than $ 2 million FIFA funds in 2011.
The payment of FIFA money to Platini was created in 2015 during federal investigations of international football officers by federal researchers in the United States and Switzerland.
The allegations, which were not proven twice in Swiss courts, removed both men from their office and led to elections in 2016 that Gianni Infantino as FIFA president and Aleksander Ceferin installed as UEFA president.
Swiss prosecutors said on Thursday that by accepting the judgments of the Court, the «another chapter closes in the complex procedures with regard to football».
