Isak Saga takes a new turn while Newcastle Club record Woltemade signs confirms

Newcastle United has signed the German attacker Nick Woltemade of Stuttgart in a club record deal, said the Premier League club on Saturday.

With Isak not available while he insists on a move to Liverpool, Woltemade may have to adjust quickly and have an impact, although he is not registered on time to make his debut in the Newcastle match against Leeds United later on Saturday.

«We are delighted to get Nick’s signing over the line so quickly. He fits the profile for exactly what we were looking for to add to our attacking options,» said manager Eddie Howe.

«He is strong in many areas – he has a great technical capacity and has proven to be a real threat in one of Europe’s top competitions – but he is also still at an age where he has enough room here to develop and grow.»

Germany was covered twice by Germany and was called up in September the 1.98-meter attacker for the World Cup qualifications against Slovakia and Northern Ireland.

«It’s a big step in my life to leave Germany, but everyone has welcomed me so well and it already feels like family,» said Woltemade.

«I really have a good feeling of speaking to the head coach that this is the right place for me to find my best level … From the first contact I felt that the club really wanted me and had big plans for me.»
