Bayern Munich succeeded in signing Senegal Monday Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea after an on-off transfer saga.
Jackson arrived in what both clubs described as a seasonal loan, giving Bayern backup for Harry Kane and a wider range of tactical options for attacks.
Negotiations were reported on a large scale in the British and German media to reverse an option or conditional obligation to change the loan into a permanent deal. Neither of the clubs immediately confirmed under what circumstances of Bayern is expected to buy Jackson.
Allegedly the deal was almost derailed by an injury to Jackson’s Chelsea teammate Liam Delap, so coach Enzo Maresca wondered if the team had sufficient depth.

«Nicolas wanted to play for Bayern immediately, so we are especially happy that things finally succeeded,» said Max Eberl, board member of Bayern for Sport, in a statement.
Jackson, who signed a contract extension last September until 2033, got out of the grace in Chelsea after the signing points outside the season of Spitsen Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.
The Senegal striker sometimes struggled at Stamford Bridge because of its wasteful finish and disciplinary issues.
Bayern hoped for a loan signing to add depth to an attack that is highly dependent on the English captain Kane.
