Spain walks along Bulgaria 3-0 in opening the world cup qualification

Spain opened his World Cup qualifying campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win to Bulgaria in his group E-meeting on Thursday, with goals from Mikel Oyarzabal, Marc Cucurella and Mikel Merino all in the opening half.

Spain has appeared on the last 12 World Cup tournaments and is already guaranteed a play -off place based on the ranking of the Nations League, but the Euro 2024 champions are expected to qualify as group winners.

Oyarzabal gave Spain the perfect start in the fifth minute, so he shifted his fifth goal in his last six international matches.

Martin Zubimendi screwed a defense-splitting ball into the box that Oyarzabal checked before pushing his shot in the bottom corner.

Oyarzabal had another chance from a corner later, but the keeper thumped his effort with Spain, which looked in control, constantly looking for Lamine Yamal wide.

It was close to one -way traffic, but not entirely, with the shot of Radoslav Kirilov who took a deflection that sent the ball just wide from the post.

Yamal was sure to score when it was sent on goal, but keeper Svetoslav Vutsov was well positioned to save at his nearby pole, before Spain found their second in half -hour, where Cucurella scored his first goal for Spain.

A cross in Yamal’s box went clear, but only to Cucurella just in the area, who took contact with his right foot before he unleashed an unstoppable shot with his left hand.

Spain was 3-0 eight minutes later when Merino emerged, originated from Yamal’s inviting corner to send a can along Vutsov.

Merino had the first chance after the break, his powerful shot from the edge of the area tipped on the bar on the bar by Vutsov.

Spain then sent Rodri and Dani Carvajal, both recovered from ACL injuries, and both made their first international performance since a 4-1 win over Switzerland almost a year ago.

The visitors continued to pass on the ball as desired, but could not add their count. However, the task was completed in the first half with the outcome never question.

The next one for Spain is another road game, a trip to Turkey on Sunday, while Bulgaria travel to Georgia on the same day. Turkey previously won 3-2 away on Thursday to Georgia in the other group E-match.
