WSL 2025-26: Chelsea on the way to winning with 2-1 win over Manchester City


Champion Chelsea got his ladies Super League campaign on the move with a 2-1 win over Manchester City on Stamford Bridge on Friday, but it has passed a Nervy final 20 minutes after a goal of defender Niamh Charles.

Chelsea’s Charles threw the visitor a lifeline when she sent the ball six minutes later in her own net, but although City stepped on the pressure, it could not find any other goal.

The evening ended in an even lower memorandum for City when Greenwood and Lily Murphy both had to be replaced after being injured, so that Chelsea would celebrate a winning start, because it is looking for a seventh league title in a row.
