The end, halfway … – The walk

Stehekin 2575.1 A Harts Pass 2655.8 and the border

Approaching the finish line!

It is not my finish line, but all the most This section had many pronounced earrings and exceeded any fear of heights through desensitization. There was also a lot of climbing and I got a severe case of are we already there?

Often, when I am going up the hill, I see myself looking at the lifting profile in Farout on my phone.

I feel that he is mocking me.

«Yes, in fact you were going up as you thought, Duh. No, you are not yet on top. You still have a long way to go. You will know when you get to the top. Stop verifying.»

Hart’s pass

Finally, Hart’s pass! My husband and I had arranged for him to meet with me there and give me a few days of food. Then I would continue north to the Canadian border, then I turn around and return to Hart’s pass and my husband would find me again to take me back to Seattle.

Ace was doing Magic from Trail in Hart’s Pass, so I got a lacroix and some chips and sauce while waiting for Kevin to appear. Then he hit a storm and was caught in my tent looking at the fall of hail. It is quite intimidating to be in a tent in a hailstorm!

Save in my store.

Kevin and I did not connect due to the fact that there was no cell service, so I could not assign myself to my location or communicate to get instructions. It was frustrating for both of us, and we decided to buy his own Inreach to send us text messages through satellite when we are in the future. In any case, he appeared the next morning and gave me some food, and I went to the border.

Sunset after another day of thunderstorms. The path became a muddy river, but at least there was a beautiful view when everything had ended.

This is a bit intimidating, but the repetition makes it less

When Canada stopped allowing hikers to enter Canada in this border line, there was a little complaint. It is a great discomfort to have to walk the additional 30 miles when you have walked so far. It also puts double hikers in this section of 30 miles (those who go north and those who go south). That said, the silver lining is that it crosses with all the hikers to 30 miles ahead of you and those 30 miles behind. I saw many family faces, a repetition of people I had met on the trip. In addition, there was a celebration energy. They have never congratulated me and the fist of so many people, friends and strangers. It was very special.

The border monument was an exciting moment. I know that I am only halfway, but even making 1300 miles was a great achievement and a challenge. I was so happy that my husband could meet with me in Hart’s pass and share part of the spirit of the path. Including squeeze 6 hikers (more he) in a sub -Uruback (I obtained the trunk) to drive to the city of Mazama!

Little Spoon, my husband T, Ducky, Cheese Wheel, Prez and I in the back. We also squeeze the fire in a few minutes later.
