Barcelona injury news: GAVI to undergo key gap surgery on meniscus injury, Fermin set for a three -week spell on the sidelines


Barcelona game maker Gavi will undergo a key gap operation to treat a meniscus injury in his right knee, the club said on Monday.

Barcelona said that the decision to have the procedure was taken after Gavi had undergone ‘intense sporting stress tests’ after a more conservative treatment.

«The conclusion is that GAVI will guarantee the best possible recovery and return to competitive action, this Tuesday an arthroscopic (procedure) will undergo,» said the Catalan club.

The 21-year-old Gavi played only two games for Barcelona this season, both in August.
