Lamine Yamal and Vicky Lopez from Spain and Barcelona won the Kopa trophy for the world’s best male and female players under 21, respectively in Ballon d’Or 2025 in Paris on Monday.
The 18-year-old Yamal, an attacker, won the prize for the second year in a row. He took the La Liga title with Barcelona in the 2024-25 season and also reached the UEFA Nations League final with Spain where it lost to Portugal.
The 19-year-old Lopez, an attacking midfielder, wrote history when she became the first female recipient of the prize.
