Rain and freezing temperatures even at low elevation in co

This morning, I woke up in my place next to the road. As soon as it rained last night! Which was really pleasant. My goal was to get up and move as soon as possible. He had at least 32 miles to reach the edge of Granby. But while the weather resisted, I will try to walk much more towards the city than that.

Once I was ready, I went to the road once again. The sun was just beginning to appear, so I needed to use a lighthouse for a while. I enjoyed time while the road was pleasant and quiet. I did not walk before it began to rain slightly on me. And this would continue for the rest of the day from time to time. It was quite cold this morning, so I started in some layers. But fortunately, it was the type of rain that was light enough for my umbrella to keep me perfectly dry. I didn’t care about that.

The morning was absolutely beautiful since the sun slowly came out. The foliage next to the road was a vibrant variety of yellow and orange tones. It was absolutely incredible. Sometimes I wonder how to walk along the way can be so beautiful. But then I think of all the national parks that I have been and all other scenic impulses. I have done it. Humans surely like to build roads in some beautiful places. And I am grateful for that.

The morning spent surprisingly quickly. I was fluctuating between being too cold and too hot for most of the day. Sometimes I need my rain jacket with zipper. Other times I didn’t want it at all! But I didn’t want to take layers inside and out of the whole day. I just tried to find a way of feeling comfortable in the middle.

Very early on the day I spent Willow Creek Pass. That’s where the CDT crossed the continental path divides. If I had been a little further along the way, this would have been a great place to rescue and enter Granby. But if I had a different route yesterday, then I would not have been on this path until much later today. And it is supposed to start breaking worse and worse as the day progresses. I think that at the end of the day I made the right decision. But obviously it will depend on how the climate develops. It is difficult to say what will happen from now on.

However, he felt good to go through the CDT. And for some reason, the route now felt much closer to the path. Now I was walking through an alternative, which many other hikers have probably walked before. I continued downhill along the road from there. The next two miles on the path would pass some very great rock formations. One was big high like a tower. Another for which I walked later in the day looks like a man -made rock wall, forming a spine along the side of this hill. He was absolutely wild! It makes me wonder if the rock has been exploited in different places. Or if so really as you see naturally.

The foliage was really incredible at this time. The road passed through the fields and open pastures. There were forests that border the surrounding area. I really enjoyed this part of the day. While walking, I tried to do a good amount of work. It has been nice to have some opportunities to get caught. And it is also crazy to think how long it has led to do it. I feel that this year I bit much more than I thought I could chew. Not only do this walk, but also with social networks.

Last year at the CDT, it was really difficult to manage blogs and Instagram content. I remember being on the backpack radio and talking about how difficult it was to maintain. I really wanted to make full YouTube videos last year. But I simply couldn’t find time. When I first sat at the beginning of this year, my expectation was to make a little less content than last year. Although I was incredibly motivated at the beginning and I had a very good service for months in a row. And although it was a lot of work, it became part of my daily life. Like miles! And I am very happy that I have stayed with that.

They were around 3:30 pm when I arrived at the edge of Granby. At this point, I was half the closest half an hour. My plan was to stop and take some food or something to drink when I arrived in the city. Then I would have another hour to walk to spend the rest of the city. Maybe a little more depending on how far it came. He felt very slowly to reach the center of everything.

One of the first things I happened when I arrived in the city was a place called Debbie’s. It looked like an old school restaurant, but it was a hamburger and a shake. That is really my favorite type of place these days. Initially I did not realize, but the place was definitely trying to be in N-Out. The hamburger and the fried potatoes that obtained were called agricultural style. If you have eaten in the in-n-out hamburger, you know that their things are called animal style. I have a hamburger, french fries and a great mint shake. And I can get a lot of slack for this, but I think Debbies is better than the hamburger in N-Out!

French fries were so ridiculously good. They are covered in some kind of house sauce, which was super salted and delicious. And were loaded with caramelized onions. It was amazing. Somehow I managed to eat them and wear my shake while walking. Then I just kept the hamburger to eat later. The closer I got in the center of the city, the surrounding area had. This is the city, but I would have loved to come last year. But it simply didn’t make much sense, and I really didn’t know it existed.

The city ride passed very quickly. Probably because I had everything I could have wanted and more. Early in the day, when I decided to go further, I booked a room for the night. There are some places near the center area. But I was surprised that they were quite expensive. Then there was a place on the street that looked huge! He had a lot of pools, hydromassage bathtubs and different attractions. Maybe it has to do with the low season? But this place was much friendlier than anywhere else in the area, and was significantly cheaper. We are talking about a third cheaper.

When I arrived at the inn in Silver Creek I had to walk a small way to get to the main building. I guess I was the only inconvenience of the place. It was quite large. Although I feel that I was lucky and I got a room quite close to the lobby. And in reality my room was just next to the laundry! Lavandería has been a rather large rarity these days. I did it when I arrived at the CDT for the first time, I did it 23 days later, and I am doing it today. The last time I did was in Rawlins, which was not long ago.

The hotel lobby had a large teddy polar bear and a black bear. That was absolutely wild. I have to ask me where they got the polar bear. I feel that they are in many of those things around, living or dead. They recorded me quite fast and I dropped into the room. Then I achieved the laundry situation. It was correct for me and could use an application to pay. That is much more convenient. I just had to get some detergent in the store if I could.

After that, I crossed the street to take some things from the grocery store. This place is directly in front of the grocery store, which is very convenient. In fact, I ended up talking on the phone with fresh land while bought. It has been very nice to talk to him more frequently. Before the other day, we have not spoken in a long time. There is very little time. But we have done a very good job the last week more or less aligning this.

I did not receive a ton of food in the edible store, but literally obtained about eight drinks. I am obsessed with drinks! At least most of them had substantial calories. I also got a microwave Amy dinner later. Those are so ridiculously good. I would eat them at any time. It is raining slightly when I returned to the room. And when I checked the weather. It seems that the storm was about to start. I feel bad that I walked all day today and the weather was not terrible. But in theory, I would not be here now in the city if I had stayed on the road. And tonight it is supposed to be one of the worst of the weather.

Once I returned to the room, ate some things and organized. Then I took a very good hot shower and put on the bath a bit. He felt good to be warm and comfortable. For the rest of the night, I simply left and made many editions. I didn’t even end up on television once. I also planned a bit of this next section. Tomorrow I will go through a small town 12 miles of the day. Then I will pass through Winter Park, where I could see a friend. And I hope the night spends in warm -up in Berthoud Pass.

It is supposed to deny all night tonight at greater elevation. I could even snow in the city depending on how low the temperature is. And it looks like a possibility of rain throughout the day. Even making a low route tomorrow, there is a potential to be a very difficult day.

So I spent the rest of the night enjoying my warm comfort as much as I could. He had a lot of delicious drink to drink and a lot of food and snacks. Today’s hamburger was very good even hours later. That place is essential if you are going through Granby, Co. As always, I stayed too late doing things on my phone. But finally, I called him one night. Tomorrow I just plan to go 30 miles! So I think I could sleep a little and have a little better start the normal.
