Liverpool -defender Giovanni Leoni is put aside for a few months after a serious injury on his club debut.
British media reported that Leoni had sustained a suspected front cruciate ligament injury during the 2-1 Carabao Cup victory on Tuesday in Southampton.
He was impressed by his first game for the club, but in the 81st minute the defender landed awkwardly after a challenge on the touchline and was taken off the field on a stretcher.

«It was not the debut that I had always dreamed of, but I will give everything to play back as soon as possible in this magical stadium,» Leoni wrote in a statement about social media that fans thanked for their support.
ACL injuries usually exclude players for six to nine months.
The 18-year-old Italian entered the narrow season of Parma at Liverpool in a deal in a deal with a value of 26 million pounds ($ 34.94 million).
