Destiny is calling your name

Speaking of cold, it’s funny how two days ago, I could barely keep my quilt on me, and now I’m trembling like a sheet in an effort to keep heat. I put my bright and early alarm today, to get to the Abol bridge before it closed at night. It is the end of the 100 mile desert!

It is a bit strange that, throughout this path, I do not think there is only one day in which I did not cross any type of road, apart from the smoks. Even in the desert notoriously «remote» of 100 miles, I still run to the roads, like Wadleight Pond Road. Many people have comments here talking about how this road walk will cut half a mile of the path. But now I’m too far in purism to quit smoking. Then, I simply walked on rocks, roots and farms towards Medcent Pond. Shame, people skip this, it’s beautiful!

Although the elevation profile is flat, I still dodge rocks, roots and thoughts while on the way. I started A thorn and roses court As Audiobro, and I have not been very impressed. Vicando by bicycle through that, music and podcasts, nothing hits well. I want to snuggle with a real book. And read it with my eyes.

Before noon, I passed the tilted rainbow stream and ate/drank. Most of the currents here are extremely close to the ponds, so although it is colder, all the water is a bit … warm. Ewwwwww … the shelter was pleasant, but it has a «baseball bat» floor, which looks like a nightmare for anyone who really tries to sleep.

Today I didn’t see another soul until the end of Lake Rainbow, where I grabbed more pond from an exit. Although this filter is new, I am definitely giving it a career for your money. He ran into some section hikers to the south that have already changed before, I guess they loved the 100. The shelf shelves uploaded, which technically is the final place for the reception before the Katahdin summit, but I did not get any. I really didn’t need any logistics set, thanks to configuring my household stay a few days before. It was sad to see all the blueberries already dead in the middle of the summer. But what are you to do?

On the way to Hurd Brook Lean-To, the end of the 100, I met Herb, a path of paths for the 100. He and I saw another trace of that recent Nobo Sharpie in the shelter, and Herb simply sighed. «More work for us of someone like a moron.»

Put some music to run a little and finally saw the exit. Another sign that indicates that we would need 10 days of food to overcome this section. JA …

Abol Bridge is a camp that is just outside the boundaries of the Baxter State Park, and also has a FANTASTIC Mama K. View is absolutely glorious … and is finally hitting. My trip ends soon. In the camp, I obtained some hot dogs, pop cakes, etc. For tomorrow and I registered for my camp. The camp is pleasant, there are bathrooms and showers. There were enough others through the hikers, they also stayed there, all preparing for the Rat race tomorrow.

Destiny is calling your name

Rat rat? Yes. I mentioned before, Katahdin Stream Campground birms only have space for 12 through hikers. So, many people were taking on how early they were going to get up. I hate this race towards the bottom. I was counting a little, and I didn’t think there were 12 hikers, so I didn’t plan to get up too early. I told some people who also said they were not going to do it. But I had a feeling.

I spent most of my time here talking to man, sparrows and remains. The man had lost birms, so he was only going to make a blue fire of 4 miles and then climb to Katahdin tomorrow. Sparrow and Scraps had a place in Abol Bridge, and they were also going to make the shortest blue fire Katahdin with Sparrow’s family. I shower very fast, to get about five days of dirt and salt, and then I sat around a fire with a sparrow and remains, making smarts and singing songs. Sparrow wrote a song about his walk that I found really stimulating. It made me feel a little better. I am really bitter that the end has to be this … race towards the bottom, but Sparrow reminded me of my heart on this trip. It is a complicated feeling. Because I want to end on my birthday, I’m not with my friends, who are adding only one day ahead of me. But I have to remember, part of this trip was to start doing things for myself. So I have to stay faithful to myself.

I launched my store in the camp, which was much more difficult than in the forest for some reason. Automobile camp sites generally have a harder dirt. Believe. I have not really been camping by car, but finally I got my release, I prepared my bag to walk as soon as possible tomorrow and I went to bed, preparing an alarm for 5. This will be miserable.
